We all know children are natural investigators. They are curious about the world they live in. In our grade level, students are expected to learn about life sciences,. One strand states that students will learn that all organisms have external parts. Different animals use their body parts in different ways to see, hear, grasp objects, protect themselves, move from place to place, and seek, find, and take in food, water and air. Plants also have different parts (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits) that help them survive and grow. With the use of these microscopes, students can explore, analyze, and present information about animals they see everyday at home or at school. Students will make scientific discoveries about plants and animals that intrigue them and therefore make learning more meaningful.
