As a new teacher, I want to give my students the best possible learning environment and climate. Students learn best when they have options in their learning, and flexible seating is a crucial choice. I have learned that when students are allowed to choose their seats and where they want to work, the majority of the time, they are more responsible and work harder. I want my students to have multiple options available to them, so the products that I have selected help me give them those opportunities. They can choose from stools, rocking chairs, floor mats, or floor desks. I believe this will allow them to make a decision that will make them comfortable and ready to learn. A calming corner will allow students to decompress and help them learn how to self-regulate when overwhelmed and stressed. I have selected products such as a rug, teepee, and star projector with calming sounds to create a spot in my classroom that will allow students to go and calm down when they need to. All of these products promote a quiet and peaceful location to regulate and get into a learning mindset. I would also like to have a classroom Cricut and laminator to help with class projects. The Cricut is also a great technology to utilize and teach the kids to use. It will inspire them to be more creative as well as teaching them design and engineering.
