As part of the Early Childhood Pathway my students would love to hatch eggs and compare the care needed for them to the care needed for infants and children with the incubator, cages, feed, bedding, lamps, and other supplies. We will also be inviting other grades in to see, which will give my students the opportunity to interact with young children and teach them about caring for animals. When the chickens are grown, our goal is to have them live in the school's Outdoor Classroom, where students can continue to watch them grow and care for them. The eggs from the chickens could potentially be used in the Culinary Pathway one day as well!
