Your donation will help create a space in which students' voices are heard, appreciated, and celebrated. The books and supplies requested in this project will facilitate lessons that put students creativity and identities at the forefront. The books requested reflect the interests and reading levels of our class. Students are curious about learning Spanish, but aren't provided with enough real-life applicable situations in which they can apply their skills. Being able to read a book from start to finish would be an incredible feat that both boosts confidence and creates a desire to continue learning another language. Even more encouraging is reading books about people that look like and reflect my students' identities/communities. My dream is that the books donated through this project would help students build a foundation and love for reading in Spanish! Students at our school do not have access to a school library nor is there a librarian on-site to help guide students' reading skills. I hope this curated list of books and resources help create life-long Spanish Speakers.
