Students have been home for a year and a half. Many times their cameras were off and we were not sure if they were even listening to us. Now that they are back in class whenever they are on the computers they are having a hard time concentrating. I especially notice the students with learning disabilities struggle during computer time. I have some headphones in the classroom, but they do not plug into the computers. Many of them have text-to-speech adaptations, so they have to chose to either not hear from using the hunting style headphones or use basic computer headphones so they can hear their text to speech but also every noise in the classroom. Every noise seems to take them away from their screen. We do several research projects in Science. I think the noise-canceling headphones that plugin would help students focus on their research as well as if they need text to speech, be able to hear that well.
