Our class library desperately needs a refresh with newer, more diverse and modern books. Students will use their reading time to learn about a variety of topics with a general theme in diversity and social emotional learning. Most importantly, the books in our library will help students foster their independence by choosing titles that speak to them and their interests. White boards give students a safe space to practice what they have learned in a way that is not permanent which helps them gain confidence and take charge of their own learning. A class set of white boards will help my students practice their new skills in our whole group lessons as well as in small groups. Wobble seats and chair bands will help my students who need that extra sensory stimulation to help them focus. The various activities I chose like flash cards are targeted for my ELL students and students who could use hands-on activities. These activities will reinforce what they have learned with opportunities for movement and tactile learning.
