Most of my students did not attend preschool or kindergarten in person, so they missed many opportunities for hands-on, active learning. These high quality materials will be used in reading, math, and STEM centers so that students can practice and master academic skills in a play-based environment. When students have hands-on materials instead of paper and pencil worksheets, their engagement and motivation increases dramatically. My students, who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, need opportunities to experience the type of hands-on learning activities that more privileged students often receive at home or in high quality preschools. Help us close the learning gap and be sure that all children are given a chance to succeed!
