Our school is in a rural part of Alabama where the majority of students attending receive a free or reduced lunch. The county housing our school is a small one, with only two high schools in it's entirety. We may not have the same funding as our larger neighboring school systems, but teachers are known for being inventive, creative, and supportive. My personal preschool classroom is the first of its kind in the school's history. Grant funded, initial monetary support is dwindling away. Funds provided this year are the next to last we will ever get and do not fully cover the cost of teacher salaries. Our hope is that continuing support from parent tuition and fundraising will be enough to continue providing our students with early childhood education.
