Having spent over a year out of school, students are readjusting to being back in a classroom and sitting down for long stretches of time while completing their work. Unfortunately, we are not done with the pandemic and therefore cannot share items as easily as we used to—another layer of adjustment for the students! Having the fidget bands and cushions on chairs will allow all students to safely release their energy while completing independent work. These tools will also reduce the amount of time students leave the classroom during instruction time as they can release their energy while sitting down, allowing them catch up on all the learning that they have missed.
