Younger students need the appropriate technology to fully grasp academic content. Younger students like my students cannot right away jump on a desktop computer and know what to do. They have not developed the necessary fine motor skills to navigate a mouse or a keyboard. Most of the time children get frustrated, not because they are lacking in knowledge, but because they lack the skill to use a mouse or a touchpad. iPads would be really helpful in ensuring a greater success rate in navigating online programs and assessments. Especially during the COVID pandemic, we are now more reliant on technology more than ever. Our students have access to tons of computer programs (Lexia, Reflex, etc.) and are expected to participate in district-wide online testing (MAPS, Aimsweb, etc.) in order to achieve overall Academic Content Standards. Help us get better results because they have access to better and appropriate technology.
