These resources will help students in various grade levels gain an understanding of math concepts. Some of the items, such as the chart paper will be used to display math strategies and problem solving steps in our classroom. With all the new math manipulatives that come with this project, we will need storage shelves to hold the materials and allow easy access for students. Also included are pocket charts and dry erase page protectors, which will be for our many math mats that are used during small group lessons. We also need math manipulatives, such as the unifix cubes, counters, and magnetic visual aids which will allow students to gain a concrete understanding that can be scaffolded into representational math interpretations. Other items, such as dominoes and foam dice will be used for a variety of addition, subtraction, and multiplication math games that will provide a fun way to reinforce learned math skills (2.NBT.5-9, 3.NBT.2, 3.OA.7, 4.NBT.4).
