As students complete their books, they are required to demonstrate their comprehension through an array of activities. Once the student has shown their comprehension, the teacher stamps their "Book Challenge" sheet. At the end of the month, we count all the books the students have read collectively in 4th grade. Our goal is to have our students read 1,200 books and if they reach this goal, we want to provide each student with a brand new, high quality book of their choosing to take home with them. We want this to be a special moment for each child as they will be able to take their book home and keep it for themselves. This will allow a bridge between school and home. This will allow not only our students to share the love of reading with their classmates, but also with their families!
