As second graders, there are a few students who are still learning to read. Therefore, we use online book apps on their Chromebooks to listen to books being read to them. By doing so, my struggling readers are able to enjoy reading and associate the words as it is being read to them. While this strategy works great for struggling readers, my other readers also benefit from this strategy as well. Occasionally, I allow students to take a break from reading books and listen to books being read to them.
