My students are often shy when it comes to public speaking. Even sitting at their desks, it is hard to hear their voices across the room when called upon to answer a question. Not that my class is loud, it's the challenge of having my students speak up in front of others. My technology coach suggested that I should get headphones with microphones so that my students could speak into their computer and record what they want to say from the comfort of their desk or the hallway so that their thoughts and Ideas can be heard. Who doesn't want to hear what children are thinking? Every child should have the opportunity to share their thoughts with others. Why should the fear of speaking get in the way? Having headphones with microphones would also give my students the ability to be safe by not having to share materials with others in these challenging times.
