The students I work with all have special needs that can include emotional issues as well as ADHD and autism. They often need fidgets/sensory activities and rewards to help them calm down and focus on their learning. Students often will come to my room when they need a break from their classroom or will even complete their grade level work to come to play with slime or fidgets for a few minutes! My students were already behind academically, but with all the missed instruction from COVID, they need all the instruction they can get. These sensory and calm down activities, learning games, and rewards will help my students to be more focused, motivated and successful in their classrooms when working on grade level standards and also in my room when working on their individual goals. I have many students on my caseload that missed in person instruction the last couple of years due to COVID and were not able to access distance learning due to their disabilities, so I requested some fun math and reading games that will help them with grade level standards 1.OA.C.6, 3.OA.A.1 and RF.1.3. My students range from 3rd to 5th grade and these items including the chair fidget bands will help them focus on all the academic standards when in class.
