Our carpet is used and loved daily, however, we are borrowing it from another teacher in our school. Students participate in a variety of daily activities such as whole group lessons, small group work, independent reading, morning meetings, and so much more all while sitting on the carpet. A class carpet gives us the opportunity to build community every single day. Being able to sit together each day helps us form meaningful relationships with each other, facilitate respectful class discussions where everyone can be involved, and focus our minds on the task at hand. A class carpet would greatly improve my students' learning.
