I teach College Prep for juniors and seniors who are not quite ready for college. Most students have learning disabilities of some sort. We have moved from historical research to literature. I want to have them read something that is relevant to them. This school is extremely diverse. I believe Trevor Noah's "Born a Crime" would be an amazing read for these students to read, analyze, and connect to. As most students are first-generation Americans or are from another country, they would be able to relate to the life Trevor Noah describes in his book.
