Several years ago, through the efforts of the Mashpee Wôpanâak Language Reclamation Project (WLRP), in a partnership between the school administration and Tribe, MMHS was able to offer introductory Wôpanâak to middle and high school students, for full academic credit. It's the first program of its kind in Massachusetts. This project will enable the Mashpee Public Schools to extend our groundbreaking Wôpanâak Language & Culture program to include all 7th grade students in our school, educating all learners, Native and non-Native alike, about the unique culture and language of the people whose name the town proudly bears.

About my class
