The tools needed to expand our classroom's learning of applied science can be expensive when added up. But with these tools, we can show our students how science and real life skills are combined together. Often, due to my students' disabilities, they struggle to understand complex topics about the world around them. Using these tools and manipulatives, we can broaden our students' minds while building their skills for life long learning. Covid-19 led to many of our students losing skills that allow them to comprehend complex subjects in abstract ways. To combat this, we have begun incorporating real world examples of these concepts, using items student's have at home. Our students come from low income areas and many had to learn to stay at home independently during the pandemic. We want to support their learning in an applied way. We will be able to use the manipulatives to support multiple math skill standards: Math: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.MD.C.3 CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.MD.C.5 CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.MD.A.2 CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.MD.A.2
