All of the students I work with have special needs. I see a great number of children with a diagnosis of autism. The sensory items requested will be used to help calm children. The kinetic sand is a great to run fingers through, squeeze and mold. A good number of children need something in their mouths to chew on. The chewies will provide them with a safe and appropriate option for this chewing need. Many of the children I work with need fidgets to help them focus on what is going on around them. The body socks will help the kids figure out where their body is in space. Making learning fun is so important. That is why I have requested a few games that are fun but also help children practice their fine motor and visual motor skills. All of the items I have requested will be both beneficial to learning, but also enjoyable for the children to use.
