Teaching children to be independent learners can be challenging. However, with cd and read-aloud books, children are able to listen, follow along with the story. I can then design activities that support my young readers based on the reading. This increases the children's independence as well as their reading and comprehension skills. My children love hearing the stories read and often get so excited they eagerly finish their work to get to the listening center first. The children have eagerly read all five of the cd books we currently have now and each week ask for new ones to read. You can partner with me to keep these cd stories coming and continue to grow the joy and love of reading in our children.
