One of the consistent activities that AVID elective students take part in is the Tutorial process. Consisting of approximately 7 students who sit in a circle with the purpose of getting help with their schoolwork, students must present a problem to their peers in an attempt to gain more clarity and eventually solve their problem. Whiteboards make this entire process run far more smoothly compared to NOT having them. Students in the 7th & 8th-grade AVID Elective classes will use the whiteboard as a presentation tool, allowing their peers to conveniently see the problem and any notes the speaker may already have. Currently, students are only presenting their problems orally, and have no visual aid, causing the Tutorial process to be far more difficult and less effective.
