Many of my boys are auditory learners. They need to hear the text multiples times to understand what they are reading. Some of them are low level readers who have a really hard time reading and completely benefit from hearing the text. Having headphones will assist them in completing independent practice work as well as participate in class discussions. Sometimes stopping the text multiple times and replaying the text multiple times frustrates students that are on a higher learning level, having the headphones will allow them to work independently while I assist others in the class who need the extra help.
