My goal is to inspire a love of books and reading in my students. The best way to do this is to provide my students with quality titles and surround them with a print-rich classroom. Our reading block includes various options, including whole group instruction, independent reading, working in leveled groupings, and working in literature circle groups based on both interest and reading level. I am noticing my students are running out of engaging materials that are also rigorous and encourage growth. We are very much in need of leveled novel sets that will foster a love and enthusiasm for reading. With the materials selected in my project, my students will be provided with modern and engaging novel choices when working in literature circle groups. , They look forward to their time in class reading and appreciate having excellent books to choose from. They also love the monthly Scholastic magazines, which will support a love of reading nonfiction texts.
