Since the beginning of the year, we have been coding two days a week during science class. My students have taken to it better than I could have hoped. We have done text-based coding and graphics-oriented coding. Our next step will be into physical computing. Taking programming into the physical world will allow us to explore the world around us using computing. This will excite the students and allow them to become a resource for the rest of the school. We have requests for monitoring stations for our beehives and saltwater aquarium. The requested sensors will help us reach that goal.
