By having access to a wide variety of sensory supports my students will have greater success while they are accessing academics and learning to self-regulate. Many students who are a part of my classroom have different sensory and social-emotional needs that require adaptive tools that can help them remain engaged throughout the school day. Many of my students benefit from the use of sensory items, alternative and adaptive seating. These items will create a more sensory-friendly classroom. Students will learn how to identify their own sensory needs and appropriately use the different tools to support their learning. These tools will allow for students to be successful within their general education classroom and be able to focus on their academics.
