Seeds Of A Revolution or S.O.A.R. :Help plant the seeds of a nutritional revolution at our school. As we know, childhood obesity is on the rise and many of our students do not have healthy diets. We are planning a 2900 sq. ft. organic garden. Students will be involved with planning, planting, weeding, and harvesting crops to supplement our school cafeteria. Presently, I teach 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade gifted students. However,I visit all grade levels with green activities. These activities can range from seed planting, water conservation,to the importance of organic farming. All of our students look forward to "garden day", when they can go outside and plant in the dirt. The laughter and dirty hands and faces coming from the garden is nature's music.
