My students and I live in the beautiful historic city of Savannah, Georgia. Our city is filled with a unique history that attracts millions of tourists each year. The school we attend is a brand new school of visual and performing arts where the students possess both the academics and the artistic. Our school is located at the gateway to our city. My students enjoy the written word, yet most have yet to be exposed to many of the classics. Avid readers are the norm, although many are intrigued by the latest "Vampire" tales. It is my desire to expose them to the classics by having them readily available in our classroom library. Studies show that students tend to read more when books are easily accessible. While my classroom library is larger than most, we are in dire need of more of the classics. It is my heartfelt desire to create a community of readers who are well-rounded productive citizens. Reading is a vital component to everyday success.
