These materials will help the children as they transition back to in-person learning. Like us, children have experienced extensive trauma with the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns/losses and are facing a lot of anxiety and unresolved trauma. Our social work office will allow students to decompress, relax, and get the fuel they need to do well in class. With these items, you will help support in the social emotional learning and academic development of our students. Snacks will help those that face food insecurity. The sensory toys will help students identify healthy coping strategies to utilize inside the classroom as well as outside. As a first year school social worker, I am dedicated to supporting the students by provided them with social emotional learning skills and mental health support as they grow and blossom. Any donations, no matter the amount, are greatly appreciated as I work on creating a safe space for the children of my school.
