Flexible seating is a great way for students to begin understanding what they need in order to be successful in the classroom. They are able to choose what type of workspace they need for the task at hand. Currently, my students are limited to sitting at their desk or on the floor with a beach towel brought from home. The students are more engaged when they have more control over their space, and I want them to reach their full potential. Flexible seating would allow them to comfortably work independently and in small groups, all while taking charge of their learning and being more engaged. The table and chairs will be utilized during center rotations and focused small groups. The inflatable balls can be used during independent reading or as alternative seating.
