My students are required to do independent reading, but they get to pick their books. With the help of the books in this project, my students will have immediate access to books in my classroom and can find the autonomy and love in reading that made me become a teacher in the first place. The books on this list will allow my students to open their minds and experiences to diverse perspectives and relate to those around the world and our country. This can bridge the gap of differences and help students overcome prejudice.

About my class
