About my class

The students I teach are gifted and require more than a regular classroom education. They need to be challenged and encouraged to grow their learning in unique ways. One way we do this is to use logic puzzles and strategy games to develop critical thinking and encourage students to think outside the box! One of their favorite strategy games is Qwirkle! They love to think 2 steps ahead to try and defeat other players! Along with logic puzzles and strategy games, my gifted students greatly need hands-on STEM projects. These projects tie in science, technology, engineering, and math and allow students to develop perseverance when they fail. Even when their designs and inventions are successful, we always stop and question how can we improve on it. These real-world applications will take my gifted students far in life!
