As a 1st year Special Education Teacher, my priority is to provide my students with various tools, strategies, and activities that will engage and help them progress toward their academic goals. Technology is a great way to provide visual and interactive activities to create an engaging and fun learning environment. Having an iPad will allow my students to interact with different learning tools and resources. It will provide them with alternative ways to show their thinking and understanding by actively participating in lessons. I will be able to utilize various apps as additional resources to promote their learning. An iPad pencil will allow my students to use interactive apps while also practicing their fine motor skills of holding a pencil. The keyboard will allow my students to type responses and practice physical dexterity skills, like hand-eye coordination, without the frustration of handwriting.
