These novels will be used to facilitate small-group novel study instruction. Novel studies capitalize on students' drive to interact with their peers in meaningful ways and make connections with those around them and the characters in the books they read. Students will work in small groups to read and facilitate discussion surrounding these texts in a way that both enhances and accompanies our core content instruction. With a diverse cast of characters that is reflective of my students themselves, I chose books that I believe will stick with my student long after they read the last page. While opportunities to hone our leadership skills and build the caring classroom environment we encourage daily is key to successful small-group work, books that are currently relevant and readily available to all students are a must in every diverse classroom. Please consider helping me as I strive to access these titles for my students now and for years to come!
