My students are in need of manipulatives to support their alphabet knowledge and phonemic awareness, which are prerequisite skills to reading. This project will help my students to use hands-on materials that will impact their daily station rotation. These items will strengthen their understanding, gain their interest and increase confidence to build lifelong learners. Students need actual hands-on learning to deepen their understanding and to keep their attention. These items will be used daily, not only in stations but when working with small groups and individuals as well. These items are self-checking so the children will receive immediate feedback.
