I work with students who have a difficult time accessing "regular" books. I've decided to make reading as accessible as I can for them. Adding graphic novels to my library will help engage those kiddos who may feel discouraged when given traditional books to read. Exposing them to different genres and ways to read may open them up to new things and ideas. I want them to enjoy reading instead of think of it as a painful task that they have to suffer through. My library needs new books and my kids need books that they get excited about. Please help me to spark a love of reading in all of my students!
