My students are struggling learners with learning disabilities and Autism in a Title I school. These students learn in different ways from other students and need manipulative materials to practice basic skills and develop math reasoning skills. Many of these items allow a student to physically touch and manipulate numbers. Some students can not learn without these tools. Having a strong math base of knowledge will make students more confident to tackle future math concepts and be successful in school and beyond. Math skills are used in all areas of life.
