The Library has always been a place of learning, but now it is also a place of creativity! The Makerspace movement in libraries today are spaces where students can expand their imaginations and stretch their learning by designing, creating, and building with a variety of tools, supplies, technologies and toys. My goal for my school library is for it to be a place where learning and fun go hand-in-hand! With the variety of Makerspace toys and supplies I am requesting, I believe that can and will happen. By connecting literature to challenging, yet fun projects, my students will be thinking and learning on a much higher level. This will help prepare them for the future and all the changes and challenges it will bring.
