The use of these manipulatives will help my students build communication through play. When working with students with special needs, it is essential for them to manipulate items to create engaging play experiences. Through play, we build the foundation for oral language development. The donations to this project will be used with our special needs students to promote communication, social, and fine motor skills. The hands-on materials that have been selected will be used in therapy to name/identify objects, stimulate language development, create play opportunities to share and interact with their peers, request items, and build on their creativity.
