Help bring a year-long subscription of Scholastic News to an amazing class of 4th and 5th graders! Scholastic News provides engaging articles, nonfiction texts, and current events written specifically for a student's grade level. My goal is for my students to take the information gained from the articles and participate in engaging conversation, process their thinking using Thinking Maps, and create writings to communicate their understanding of a topic. Exposure to a variety of topics and current events not only fosters a love of reading, it encourages students to take interest in the world around them. These articles will be used as independent activities, small group work, and whole class lessons. This resource will help our classroom thrive!
