About 4 years ago our school invested in it's first 3D printer - and it was instantly a game changer in the math classroom. With the filabot we can recycle and reuse 3D printing materials, which means saving us money, working towards being a more sustainable school, and giving students the opportunity to explore potential career options in the world of STEM. Making math engaging can be a challenge. Showing kids that math is applicable to life can be a challenge. We have been able to do this by teaching project-based math, utilizing our 3D printers for students to build robots, practice coding programs, design architectural structures, and bring math into their 3-dimensional worlds. Filament for the printers can be expensive but with the Filabot plastic recycling machine we will reduce our environmental footprint and costs by reusing our materials.
