The ability to have STEM kits in the room will serve many purposes in enhancing engagement and knowledge of related topics. Right now, for instance, we are working through a force and motion unit. If we had more hands-on, and easily accessible resources like those I have requested, it would go a long way towards enhancing my class. Students would be able to build different types of mechanisms and demonstrate the different properties of force and motion we have been discussing. It would also be a fun and welcome change from the traditional ways of learning they are used to. The more senses we are able to engage with students, the more they learn studies have shown. If I could utilize more opportunities for them to be working with their hands, this will greatly add to the information they are processing through mostly sight and sound now.
