This fall our principal challenged all of the elementary staff to increase the students reading. I created a committee of students to come up with strategies for how to meet the reading challenge in my classroom. The student identified having a comfortable place, time, tracking progress, and celebrating small achievements as the elements needed to meet the principals challenge. Everyone is helping the students implement the plan; the administration is making available the technology and space, the students are taking care of the bulletin board and celebration planning, and I am with your help providing the resources needed for what the students have envisioned.
