Each day brings a new opportunity to learn in our very own ways! In my classroom we work hard to be a family. With the new books purchased we will correlate the books with the standard target. These books will be used to add other cultures to out instruction. Studies show that when kids can relate to the material they are learning they seem more enriched and engaged in what we they are learning. I am working to add mores picture books, read alouds, and chapter books to our classroom to teacher with our ELA curriculum that have more cultures and life lessons immersed in them. Due to the demographic of the classroom I am looking for books that have different cultures, different races, different family life etc. I want to make sure all students can see themselves in the pages of the books we read and learn. Thank you for all your consideration, I am so excited to have relatable books for my students!
