Whiteboards bring learning back to the basics. They don't have the bells and whistles of iPads and Chromebooks... But that's what makes them so special. The minute students are told, "take out your whiteboards," their energy shifts. Students become eager to engage in whatever activity/lesson is to follow, simply because it involves whiteboards. It's true, most of the time they want to draw silly little pictures on their whiteboards and show their friends. But they rarely cause a distraction. On the contrary, whiteboards help keep students engaged. I've used whiteboards when students are learning to write letters, numbers, snap words, math equations and more. Students almost always do better when using their whiteboards than regular paper or notebook. By donating to my project, you would essentially contribute to my students' academic success and that is priceless :) thank you in advance!
