We are trying to build a library for our classroom to help our students develop their independent reading skills and foster a love of reading. After the pandemic, the disparities are even greater, and it's our goal to help students improve their reading skills and be more prepared for being independent adults after graduation by having excellent reading and critical thinking skills. We would like to accomplish this in part by providing students with opportunities for independent reading and a Drop Everything and Read program within our class so that students can read high-interest books that they will want to finish--while improving their skills!
