Students perform at their best when they have materials in the class they can rely on, is dependable and accessible to them to be successful. My students, Gen Ed and ELL, who are in my 9th and 10th grade mathematics class are in a Title 1 school and come from a lower-income demographic community. Having handheld devices is a necessity and having a graphing calculator is a privilege. Having quality tablets and graphing calculators readily available would be an asset to my students' learning and achievement. Our schools have computer carts, computer labs, and a media center with desktops but with 185 teachers, the lab schedule is limited and stretched beyond capacity.
