The students will use these calculators in and outside of the classroom to help them with many calculations in AP Calculus. These calculators can easily be used to find derivatives and integrals. They are less expensive than a graphing calculator and very useful. Some of my students cannot afford calculators. Learning math in the current times requires technology. A calculator is a basic necessity for solving math problems. The AP exam requires that I show my students how to use a calculator and is permitted to use one on 2/4 sections of the exam.
