Flexible seating will allow my students to learn in different areas of my room, as well as, create small groups near my desk. Currently my students just have desks to sit at all day. Many of my students would focus more and learn better if flexible seating was an option. Having this option will encourage my students more independence and autonomy. I would like my students to get more into reading on grade level, (RL.3.10) and they will be much more excited about it with the optiosn to choose where they sit. Some of the items we need in our class are privacy folders. Privacy folders will allow my students to take ownership of their own work and learning. This will be useful with all of the standards as we take assessments in all subjects. Other times such as markers and cardstocks will be used for some of the STEM projects that we would like to do. e.g., build a tower, build an escape route and etc. To get my students excited and motivated, we will use raffle tickets and stickers. Students love to be recognized and rewarded for the efforts.
