I would like to build my classroom sets of STEM toys that allow my students to be creative with blocks and other physical manipulatives. Being a 1-1 device school, my students are very engaged with digital learning, but I feel really are missing out on some of the problem solving, and cooperative learning that goes along with play. Empowering my students to problem solve through play will set my students up for success in the future. The various STEM blocks/builders that I have chosen for my classroom Donor's Choose project would allow my students to collaborate and engage with each other on creative projects. They love to build with blocks, magnets, and other manipulatives, so these sets would be a perfect addition to my second grade classroom!
